My story
Yazmeen Rodrigues, AKA Poochie Mama
You know the saying, “They couldn’t hurt a fly”? Well, that’s me. I’ve always been more curious about other beings than scared of them. Advocating for animals and giving a voice to their needs has been my greatest passion for as long as I can remember.
I grew up in a house with at least three dogs at all times and a dog trainer for a mom. This gave me the confidence to lead dogs of all sizes and temperaments, along with a deep understanding that our pets need to experience a world outside of their home to be truly happy.
While dogs are my most frequent clients, I also adore and have experience caring for cats, bearded dragons, and parrots. Simply put: I’ve never met an animal I didn’t like. No matter where I am in life or in the world, I always make time for animals. It is my passion, my therapy, and what I truly love to do.
Books I’ve read that have shaped the way I care for and respect animals:
The Other End of the Leash | by Patricia B. McConnel
A Mysterious World | by Vikas Singh
Alex & Me | by Irene M. Pepperberg
Straight from the Horse’s Mouth | by Amelia Kinkade
